Jack Ma Put in His Place: This Anthill is Being Flattened. [Ken Wu]

Image
This anthill is being flattened.  Ant Financials, a group controlled by Alibaba, has been positioning itself as a technology and internet company and NOT a financial institution, and up to now is offering online banking, securities, insurance, credit and other financial services without complying with China's financial regulations, including capital sufficiency requirements.  On October 24 at the Shanghai Financial Summit, Jack Ma launched a blistering public attack on Chinese financial watchdogs and banks. "In China, it is not a problem of systemic financial risk because China's financial sector does not have a system," he smugly proclaimed.  (Did he mean except for Ant Financials?) "The regulatory system in China is stifling innovation and must be reformed to fuel growth," he continued, as China's financial regulators sat listening. (Was that a demand for regulators to leave Ant alone, let it do what it wants, and even to regula...

Is China and Russia Forming An Alliance That Would Challenge Western Hegemony?

Image
According to AP, Russian and Chinese bombers flew a joint patrol over Pacific The Russian military said that a pair of its Tu-95 strategic bombers and four Chinese H-6K bombers flew over the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea. Quoted: "The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that the joint mission was intended to “develop and deepen the comprehensive Russia-China partnership, further increase the level of cooperation between the two militaries, expand their ability for joint action and strengthen strategic stability.” The US - NATO Alliance imperialist Cold War 2.0 maybe driving these two stages to unite.  Those liberal imperialists in Joe Biden's pushing The Kissingerian strategy of trying to divide Russia and China, so as to prevent an alliance that could challenge Western imperial hegemony, and may have their work cut out after years of Democratic party  obsession with Russia Gate.  AP news article 22 December 2020: https://apnews.com/article...

The U.S. Crackdown on Chinese American Researchers Endangers the Future of Science

Image
The U.S. Crackdown on Chinese American Researchers Endangers the Future of Science Ethnically Chinese scientists are fighting a long history of U.S. persecution  This is a common tactic used to disenfranchise and impoverish minorities particularly black people  Shortly after dawn on May 21, 2015, FBI agents came to physicist Xiaoxing Xi’s front door with guns drawn and a battering ram for backup. They arrested him on charges of wire fraud and released him only after he put his house up as collateral against a $100,000 bond. Xi, who lived in a quiet suburb of Philadelphia, attracted attention as a world-renowned expert in thin films, substances used for building superconductors. The 57-year-old had just been named interim chair of Temple University’s physics department. He was the principal or co-principal investigator on nine federally funded research projects on thin films, had grants totaling over $1 million per year, and led a team of 14 researchers. The profess...

The US in reality is reacting aggressively to a rising Chinese power whose economic gains threaten US global supremacy.

Image
Veteran US diplomat Chas Freeman says that despite talk of a New Cold War between the US and China, the US in reality is reacting aggressively to a rising Chinese power whose economic gains threaten US global supremacy.  Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrpU9kroOFU   Freeman, who served in top State Department positions and as Richard Nixon's chief interpreter on his historic 1972 visit to China, discusses the state of US-China relations and flashpoints such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the repression of Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang. "Since around 1870 , we have been the preeminent society on the planet -- the wealthiest and technologically most advanced, the most influential. And China's overtaking us," Freeman says. "So there's a psychological issue here. The good deal of what we're doing is better explained by psychology than by statecraft. China does threaten American economic supremacy, may have already passed us in many ways... Whet...

The Chinese Model of Governance, a paradigm shift

Image
The Chinese governance ideology and philosophy goes back 5000 years. Maoism looked at all the different system of governance from Plato to Marx and Lenin, tweak, mixed and match it to suit China's local conditions and you have what you have the China of today. When China opened up during the 70s, the CCP sent thousands of cadres to overseas on a fact finding mission to learn the best practices and bring home to tweak it to suit China's local environment and condition. That's what Chinese governance is all about. https://www.paradigmshift.com.pk/chinese-model-of-governance/

GHANA MUST GO: The ugly history of Africa’s most famous bag [Africa Full Facts]

Image
AFRICA'S MOST FAMOUS Bag [Africa Full Facts]  GHANA MUST GO: The ugly history of Africa’s most famous bag It was the bags that made up Solomon “Acquaye” Asiedu’s mind. They were cheap, ordinary bags. They had no name and came in blue and red, in big and medium sizes, all checked. They were wanted in Lagos markets with an intensity never experienced before. Nigerian traders sold out of the bags as hundreds jostled to get as many as they could to pack their things  into. The bags had always been popular: they were big and spacious and sturdy enough for long-haul travel. But it was when people started calling them “Ghana must go” bags that the young man knew it was time to leave. The bags followed him home, as he crossed two countries to return to Ghana and, 36 years later, they still stare at him from stores on every corner — with the same cursed name. They represent a period of despair that many Ghanaians would rather forget. The year was 1983, the day, January 17. ...

Why we don’t need to repay the national debt – and why doing so would be incredibly economically harmful [Richard Murphy]

Image
@RichardJMurphy: "I am bemused by those who demand that we repay the UK government’s debt. It makes me wonder, do they…" Posted on   December 20 2020 I have just posted this on Twitter - as a rather long thread. But it's important to explain why the debt fetishists are wrong to demand rep[ayment of what is incorrectly called our national debt, and in this post I seek to explain why: I am bemused by those who demand that we repay the UK government’s debt. It makes me wonder, do they know what it is? And how do they think it can be repaid? And do they appreciate the consequences? A thread is coming on......bear with me, because I think you need to know this. First, what is the UK government’s debt? I’ve immersed myself in this issue and can confidently say the Office for National Statistics’s figures are wrong, most especially because they claim that the UK government is in debt by owing money to itself. That’s not possible. Whatever the Office for National Stat...

When will islam apologize and pay Afrika for slavery, abuse, murder and rape? [Joshua Maponga]

Image
Let’s start again : how old is islam as a religion? How many Afrikan countries did they invade? How many people has islam killed to date?  Does Islam tolerate other religions? Is Avraham the father of the jews the same as Abraham the father of Ishmael? If the father of islam and Christianity is Abraham why do these two nations fight? Who has the truth Allah or Yhwh?  Who is right jesus or Mohamad? Which one is truth the Koran or the Bible? What does the heaven for the Moslem look like and what does the heaven of the Christians look like? Who has the truth?  Is islam a cult or a religion ? Since both claim to be religions of peace why are they fighting to date? What does islam say about modern slavery and human body parts harvesting in the Middle East?  What value is light complexion play on islam? How does the Imamas of Saudi Arabia relate with black Afrikans? Why are Christians and Moslems always angry to fight for their religion? What is a kafir in islam ? When wil...

Imperialism 2.0: Notes From The Edge Of The Narrative Matrix [Caitlin Johnstone]

Image
DECEMBER 13, 2020 AUTHOR: CAITLIN JOHNSTONE The new imperialism doesn’t look like old-school ground invasions, it looks like multi-front cold wars, economic warfare, blockades and starvation sanctions, drone strikes, arming proxy militias, CIA-backed coups, sprawling tech surveillance networks, mass psyops of unprecedented sophistication and narrative management systems to facilitate them. Peace activists need to be looking in this direction, especially as the US gets a new Secretary of State who  advocates this exact approach  to imperialism. Imperialism 2.0 is designed to operate so invisibly we don’t even notice it’s happening. No mass troop deployments, no flag-draped bodies flying home in planes, and (they hope) no potent antiwar movement in response to it. In the new imperialism there are still troops deployed all over the world, but they’re there with the “permission” of the puppet regimes they installed and they exist primarily to protect the infrastructure of the invi...

African Identity and Culture: Who We Are [ Dr Mathole Motshekga]

Image
Great nations, past and present rooted their nationhood in their heritage whether real or imagined. The heritage of a people is their roots. A nation is like a tree. It cannot grow and sustain itself without roots. That’s why primal or ancient African communities venerated trees such as the Baobab, sycamore or fig tree. They also claimed that they evolved from the trunk of the tree or the lotus flower. The Baobab tree for instance was known as the Tree of the Great Aunt (a reference to the moon (maia or the planet Venus (Nehanda or Masase) as the universal mother of all humanity.  Both the moon and the Venus are emanations of the Sun (Ra). The Sun was therefore regarded as the King (Faro) or God of light.  The Sun (Ra) was regarded as the physical manifestation as the God of light. The spiritual aspects of human beings were regarded as rays of the spiritual Sun (Kara) known as God. The primal African culture was therefore called the regal culture and their belief s...

The De-Colonisation of The African is Long Overdue [Joshua Maponga]

Image
ZIM  (Zimbabgwe Indigenous Movement) Part 4 We are the solution!  Season for change. “The hands of Esau but the voice is of Jacob” Afrikans have  to reclaim their lost identity and stop feeling like Afrikans but speaking like Europeans. The reality is “we have been captured totally captured, our stomachs and minds are full of colonial substances and viruses . The struggle we Face now is to  try and  solve Afrikan problems with European solutions. (Breast feeding with a plastic straw) Oh that my Afrikan countries can think like Afrikans (usage of mental faculties) feel like Afrikans (hearts/passion be for Afrikan products and lifestyle) and act (hands/action be) like Afrikans do it for Afrika. The trap is that our economy and academia has become a colonial regime with black snobs now protecting a white legacy trying to access “Esau’s estate with Jacob’s schemes” ( a schizophrenic bipolar governance/political/economic/cultural disorder. Afrika is a lan...

Savage Reaction BY Zimbabweans To The Mbuya Nehanda Statue

Image
Zimbabwean Netizens are enmeshed in a euphoric internet brouhaha reacting to the unveiling of the supposedly artifact meant to be a prototype of the representation of  our bonafide foremother - Mbuya Nehanda.  Is it by happenstance or by design that the sculptor is a male horny devil? Palpably, to quench, extinguish his inherent sexual titillation,  he mischievously hyperbolized our iconic foremother’s buttocks, unbelievably inflated her bosom. He fetishizes on big buttocks and big bosom . More disturbingly, in lieu of accurately portraying her as a dark skinned women that she was ; the horny devil mendaciously administered bleaching agents on our foremother . Consequently, we are presented with a Slay Queen, yellow bone as a prototype of a representation of our history. Ironically and symbolically, our foremother passionately fought against such intellectual laziness, nincompoopery during her epoch .  The historicity of Mbuya Nehanda is very clear . She ...
