The US reserve currency is a global financial monopoly, and money controls US democracy... 

Those who own the capital can lobby or directly finance their representatives in government. The people's candidates are not chosen by the people, they are chosen by the party who are wholly beholden to corporate funders and influencers.

This is why often the basic needs of the people or commonsensical ideas like assault weapon restrictions are consistently rejected by the congress and senate, whilst the vast majority of citizens favour reforms and regulations. And the citizens remain the perennial victims of mass shootings and terror. 

In the US, the majority of voters are given two representatives of the elites that must garner billions of dollars in funding for their campaigns to be successful. So it's not really about meritocracy in government, but whether a political figure can meet the criteria of preserving Democratic appearances, in terms of winning majority support on election day, predicated on the high-cost machinery paid for by corporate finance. The billionaires have it. And without their consent, no one can get to the white house. "Never be deceived that the rich will allow you to vote away their wealth." Lucy Parsons.

It is on this principle that the US Supreme Court, declared that money is free speech. (Federal Election Commission, 558 U.S. 310 (2010), was a landmark decision of the Supreme Court of the United States concerning the relationship between campaign finance and free speech.)

This is evidencing the full overthrow of democracy by corporatism and the seamless integration of localised capitalist hegemony with imperialism and the ambition of achieving a global monopoly. They want money to control the government everywhere across the globe and as they control the reserve currency, they control the monopoly and the world. 

The financial, military, and industrial capitalists are united in their Imperial cabal and intent on exporting this financial capitalist control to foreign governments. First, they on the pretext of advocacy for human rights and democracy will employ subversion, propaganda and economic sanctions. Threatening military intervention as indicated and fueling division, Balkanisation and dichotomous thinking in the media and academia.

They then pay a cadre of well-meaning, but useful idiots, who being converted by idealism and liberal illusions become cannon fodder for the infiltration movements. Whether they succeed or not, their real purpose is to galvanise support for action and to solidify sentiment among the masses; among the citizenry. Invasion if sufficiently low cost or high gain (as in resource-rich countries) can always be factored in as an option. 

However, once the deed is done, the ideal scenario is that the US corporate-controlled system of governance can be set up universally across the world. And regional governments will remain positioned hierarchically in submission to the dictates of the corporate elites controlling the financial and political hegemon in the US. It's not democracy, it's capitalism and corruption... In this system, if they own more capital, they control you.
